Our recent review in Fine Dining Guide UK was an excellent one, and very thorough too.
As well as information and opinions on the food creations of our Executive Chef John Footman and Head Chef Gerd Greaves, it offers some background on fine dining in the Summertown area.
It seems a shame that the old glory days of fine dining in the area are now gone and that there are not as many truly great restaurants here as there used to be. It was also interesting to read about Raymond Blanc’s opening of Le Petit Blanc right here in Banbury. Raymond has certainly had a profound influence on food and foodies in the Oxford area. Our own John Footman spent 18 months working alongside him at Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons.
John and Gerd have both benefitted from their work in Michelin kitchens, but neither are really looking for badges or accolades. They’re both gaining a great deal of satisfaction serving great food to a really appreciative clientele.
